That just did not happen.
So my two friends and I went to the beach today while the rest of our group went to a Jack Johnson concert. Two of us went to go into the water while the other one stayed back to watch our stuff. In literally 30 seconds, my friends purse get stolen! The even worse part is that she had her passport and all her money in it, so we are praying that she will be able to fly back to paris tomorrow. Speaking of passports, did you know that the U.S. Embassy closes on the the weekend?!?!?! I don´t understand it at all. Oh and it also took us 3.5 hours to find the police station to file a report. We are back at the hostel but have no room key or a way of communicating with the concert group about what happened...
soooo...probably not the best trip this summer =/

winding down!
Rome was amazing!! There was soooo much to do. We ended up walking around the city for 14 hours the first day. We are definitely some hardcore tourists. The gelato was also amazing! Yum yum.
I'm leaving for Barcelona this Thursday! I'm pumped to be able to spend the last weekend in Europe on the beach...hopefully it'll be very relaxing.
As for school, we have way too much work! It's not fair seeing the Accounting program students getting to go out and play while we stay in writing our papers. One of the girls in our class counted how many assignments we had to do and it turned out to be 14!!! That's 14 assignments out of the 20 days of class. We've also had group projects for each class and it's been confusing as to who's in what group since I'm in 4 different groups. We also have 2 exams and 2 group presentations next week to finish off the program. I can't wait to finish! but then that means Paris will be finished too. Oh bittersweet.

where are you, chipotle?
i am so missing tex-mex...or anything spicy really. everything here is about bread and sweets, and my taste buds are getting bored haha.
it's been quite chilly here lately. the high has been around 65 and i didn't really pack that many sweaters. but I guess i can't complain considering it's around 95 in Texas :P.
I think the CIBER program is planning a small excursion for us to Versailles this week. I'm also going to a Paramore concert on Wednesday with my friend! I'm stoked. Then I'm off to Rome/Milan on Thursday!
Less than 3 weeks left! Bittersweet...

Cultural what?
The course schedule here is getting a bit hectic. We have 4 teachers for 2 classes and they each assign their own course work. The hard part is that some teachers meet every Monday and Wednesday but then other teachers only meet once a week, so the deadlines are getting complicated. They all keep talking about culture culture culture that I will understand the French/U.S. culture inside out by the end of these 5 weeks. Not to say that leanring about culture is bad, I just wished we talked about other things now an then. I hope they grade easy though. :)

Cultural Negotiations
I had this conversation with some of my other friends here in Paris, and we all agreed that traveling definitely tests your character. It's already been 17 days in Europe and I have definitely learned a lot about who I am and how to work with others.
I finally had my cultural breakdown a few days ago. I knew it would happen and it finally did when I got to Paris. I just became frustrated with now knowing the language and being lost. It almost happened in Prague too, but I think it was too early into the trip to lose control. I don't blame you, Paris. I'm just a little exhausted from being a foreigner and having to adjust.
I'm still having a great time abroad though! It's been fun meeting a bunch of people (the accounting kids are cool too). There are still a lot more memories to come.

Typing in France is Hard
I am finally in Paris and we just finished our second day of classes! the professors so far have been really good, but our classes are 4 hours long...and I thought my hour and half classes were bad! The language barrier here is a bit annoying at times. I am not going to lie, some people here arent really into helping out either. But everything has been manageable so far.
So i am typing this is the computer lab and the letters are mixed up on the keyboard so it is taking a really long time to type this so i will leave with this: GO TO BRUSSELS!!! they have amazing chocolate, waffles, and a great environment!
