Isn't it so disappointing when you put in so much effort but come up short? It's only the beginning of the semester though, and hopefully things will start turning up...
Sorry just had to get that out of the way!
Anyways, Habitat 4 Humanity meeting was short and sweet. I really like this organization because it's awesome to be able to help others in such a big way. I'm hoping I can go build in a couple of weeks!
I also went to the Management Boot Camp seminar and got to talk to a career advisor about my minor. I think I'm going to stick with my supply chain management minor just because I feel like it'd be good to have an overall view of the whole business process. Just from talking to some of my friends, I don't think yall remember that career advisors are there for YOU! So go take advantage of them! I know many of you guys are confused and not sure about which classes or routes to take, but just go drop by the Career Library and you'll be able to get a bunch of helpful info. You can thank me later :P
Next week is a busy one! The Career Expo is on Wednesday and you know what that means...Resumania! Haha well at least I need to get my resume checked. Actually, I don't think I'm going to go to the expo this semester since I can't do an internship over the summer, but it'd still be nice to have an updated and corrected resume.
So the Texas primaries are coming up and I decided to register to vote. I went online to register but apparently you have to print out the form and mail it in. Being a college kid, I didn't have any stamps so I couldn't send it in. haha! I guess I'll just wait till next Monday and register on the Drag. I encourage everyone to get educated about the election and to register to vote as well! Here's a helpful rundown on each candidate: www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/
Sorry for posting only music lately. I usually put up random videos but I've been finding a lot of new music online.

Boot Camp
We just had our first IM basketball today and I fell right on my right knee. I have a pretty little bump growing on it right now. My right achilles tendon is also sprained. So if you see me limping around campus...come and say hi :P
So this week is Boot Camp! For you people who aren't quite sure what major you want to be or just want more information, this should be perfect.
Monday:
International Business 12-1 pm
Business Honors 1:30-2:30 pm
Tuesday:
Management 12-1 pm
Finance 1:30-2:30 pm
Wednesday:
ERB/Supply Chain Mgmt 12-1 pm
Accounting 1:30-2:30 pm
Thursday:
MIS 12-1 pm
Marketing 1:30-2:30 pm
All of the sessions are at the Career Library. I think I'm going to go to Management and Supply Chain since I'm not sure which one I want to minor in.
Tomorrow's the first meeting for Habitat 4 Humanity! I'll update later on that and Boot Camp.
More music: John Mayer covers Justin Timberlake's 'I Think She Knows Interlude' on the guitar...pretty sweet

Je vais à paris!
I'm going to Paris! I just turned in my deposit today for the CIBER Marketing Program for this summer. I can't wait to plan out my trip! What's even better...since I'll be taking two upper-division MKT classes, I'll be really ahead in my degree plan. This summer is going to rock!
I'm writing this in the Mil Lab right now. I have a two hour gap between my last class and my spanish lab. My classes have been really good actually. Since I changed my schedule from the beginning of the semester, the workload has been manageable. The only questionable class right now is weight training. I'm so tired after that class! Haha I guess it's a good thing but I'm still waiting for basketball to open up.
I flipped through my old posts and I'm sad to see that half the youtube clips I posted up are now gone. So I apologize if you're looking through and it doesn't work.

ROSE is not my friend
I liked my Bio class. I really did. I ended up dropping it though. Sorry.
So I basically had all my classes on MWF and I'd rather not have that seeing that all the tests started falling on the same dates. I waited and waited, playing with the course schedule and NOTHING opened. How is that possible? Usually people are switching all over the place but it seems like this semester there's a shortage of classes in the business school. I had to keep BA, MKT, and SPN so BIO had to go. So in place of dropping Bio, I added Govt at ACC for Distance Learning. I also noticed that I can graduate early so might as well take it easy each semester.
BA 324: I love my teacher! I know this class has a reputation for being a hard A but at least I really like my teacher, right? The syllabus is daunting though.
MKT 337: We have assigned seats and I'm right dab in the front row center. Haha! I'm kind of scared of this class just because it's my first marketing class. Since I'm majoring in it, I better do well.
SPN 506: Pretty easy since I took it in high school. But I think it'd be really hard for students who don't have a background in it. They teach as if you're supposed to have taken it in high school. Good thing I didn't register for French...
PED 106: We lift weights. Pretty self-explanatory.
For Govt, I signed up for the 12-week session so it should be a better experience from last semester's 8-week session. I almost killed myself reading those chapters so quickly.
Let's see, let's see. IM basketball season starts up in a couple of weeks. I haven't touched a bball since last IM season but I'll take any type of exercise I can get.
What else, what else. I got accepted into UTLA! So I'm pretty much set for that. I just need to research what company I want to intern with. Can't wait!
I can't think of anything else to write about right now so I'll leave you with my new favorite song in acoustic.

new year = new semester = new GPA please
Cheers to 2008! Time is flying by so fast. I can't believe I'll be graduating in a couple of years. CRAZINESS. I was getting bored with my old layout so I decided to start anew and changed it up a bit.
My winter break turned out to be better than I expected. I ended up re-reading all the Harry Potter books and caught up on some good movies. Meeting up with old friends was fun as well! It was good to relax and unwind back at home and not worry about doing laundry :P.
What is up with the semester starting on a Monday?? It's throwing me off thinking we actually start tomorrow! My schedule is definitely not settled yet. I'll probably end up waking up at 8 tomorrow to try and do some last minute fixings. Here's what I have so far:
BIO 301M
B A 324
MKT 337
SPN 506
PED 107
I'm 26/50 waitlisted for MAN 336 but I have a feeling I'm not going to get in. I signed up for weight training so I can get some kind of constant exercise but I'm going to try to switch that to basketball.
After my worst semester last year, I've decided to focus more on my grades this year than anything else. I want that 4.0! Sorry extracurricular activities...you're on hold. I'd also like to thank the WGA strike for postponing new episodes of Heroes and Ugly Betty. That will definitely take away some of my distractions.
I'm quite excited... I bought some new business shirts for my BA 324 class. I'm sure it's not really going to help with my grade but it's a nice feeling to know I have new, clean clothes!
I also just finished my UTLA application for Spring 09! I'm going to turn it in tomorrow to make sure I have a guaranteed spot. The CIBER program this summer also looks like a go, so I should deposit my check for that soon.
Well I hope everyone has a good first day tomorrow.
Let the long nights of studying begin.
